Fibre reinfoircing doesn't have to be just glass. It can be Flax (a natural fibre) or Innegra (which is an uklta high molecular weight polyethylene with VERY low stretch) of even Basalt (yes the rock, it makes a high modulus cloth (low stretch) which is nearly as high modulus as carbon but less expensive.
Also in this category are the speciality weaves. Twill, Crowsfoot, Satin. These special constructions make the cloth more drapable. That is it will go over odd shaped items more easily with fewer creases and need less cutting and fitting.
Many of these speciality fibres look just great when clear finished.
