No Rot Gel is a single pack water based wood preservative which is brushed over the wood surface which is to be protected.  It will soak into and diffuse into the timber  where the active ingredients will protect the timber by limiting the growth and spread of rot causing organisms.  It will allow the surface to be painted over with most paints and coatings.

Great for timber that has been damaged by rot, insects, mildew or decay.  Ideal for external timber pieces such as window frames and doors/ dor frames etc. Also in bathrooms where high humidity frequently occurs.  In boats, high humidity can often lead to rot and this product is a great way to limit further decay.  Use it any where moisture and poor ventilation are putting timber at risk of decay.

Directions.

Apply No-Rot Gel to the timber surface using a brush, roller or spray gun. If the timber is very dry, it is best to dampen the timber with water to allow better penetration of No-Rot Gel. For effective treatment against decay, mould and insect attack, use 500ml to 1 litre per square metre.

For correct dosage rates, No-Rot Gel will require 2 coats. Allow 2-3 hours between coats.

Painting Over No-Rot Gel

Timber treated with No-Rot Gel can be painted over with either oil or water based paints, primers and undercoats. For best results, allow 5 – 8 days for the timber to thoroughly dry.

*In any situation where rot has occurred, in addition to using an anti rot protective material it is also very important to remove the reason the rot occurred in the first place.  Most timber rot is so called dry rot, which can only occur when the timber is damp for extended periods and has access to air.  That means that after the preventative compound has been applied and the repair (as needed) has been done, measures must be put in place to prevent new rot.  Stop the timber getting wet (better roofing etc, or maybe epoxy coating), and probably also better ventilation so stray moisture dries out and goes away promptly.
