Double Bias 617 gsm 1.27m wide. E Glass. per Metre

Warp Triaxial, Weft Triaxial, Quadraxial Glass Fibre Cloths

Triaxial Triaxial Glass Fibre cloth has about 1/3rd of the fibres at 45 degrees to the length of the cloth (+45degrees) and another 1/3rd at right angles to the first lot, so they are also at 45 degrees to the length of the roll, but the opposite 45 degrees (-45 degrees). It also has 1/3rd of its fibres running along the roll which is called Warp Triaxial or it has the other 1/3rd running across the length of the cloth, and this is called Weft Triaxial. Triaxial glass fibre fabric is frequently used to reinforce the sides of a yacht where the chain plates attach, with the uniaxial fibres veretical so that it has fibres running in the direction of most of the load. Triaxial can be thought of as a double bias cloth combined with a uniaxial cloth.

Qudraxial has 25% of its fibres at +45 degrees to the length of the cloth, another 25% at -45 degrees (so that they are at right angles to the first lot of 25% of fibres). It then has 25% of its fibres running across the length of the cloth (90 degrees), and another 25% running along the length of the cloth (0 degrees). Quadaxial can be thought of as a double bias cloth combined with a biaxial cloth. It has fibres running within 22.5 degrees of any direction, so it has almost equal strength in any direction. It is used in locations where the loads are hard to predict or where they vary dramatically in direction, for example under the bridge deck of a catamaran.

Please note that all these cloths are 1.27m wide, so a roll is too long to go by Australia Post. Either we must fold them (which does crease them) or we will need to send them by courier or freight carrier.

Take care if sending using Australia Post or a satchel.  Click here for Shipping Notes
